As kids, we were the best of friends. In adulthood, life took us in different directions. But one thing remained true – nothing would ever come between us.

That’s the way it was, until it wasn’t…

The war in Afghanistan took one of us. A heroin addiction threatens to take another.

I’ve returned home to try and save the life of my childhood friend but secrets, surprises, and tragedy have altered my plans.

Now, I’m left with a crucial decision to make. I can return to my normal life in California and leave the past behind me or I can safeguard those that need me the most. Friendship, love, and a little girl’s life hang in the balance.
